The South Plainfield, New Jersey-based company said that since securing its first paying customer in June 2003, it has deployed its software to thousands of users through 21 customers in the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific Rim.

Tacit has developed Unix and Windows-based wide area file sharing software designed to overcome the limitations of WAN networks. Through its acquisition of Attachstor in January, Tacit is integrating the company’s email attachment consolidation, management and optimization into its own software for delivery in 2005.

Funding was led by JPMorgan Partners, with participation from new investor CTTV Investments, with follow-on investments from existing investors Canaan Partners, RRE Ventures, and SAS Investors.
