The contract involves e-Smart and two other companies, Olcsan Cad, an information technology provider in Istanbul, and the Korean industrial giant Daewoo International Corporation.
Olcsan Cad is heavily involved in the Turkish smartcard market and operates as the IT company of the Olcsan Group, which undertakes smartcard projects across a range of industries.
e-Smart also supplies a commercially available smartcard with a full on-card system for biometric ID verification. These new generation technologies aim to protect against ID and payment fraud, including identity theft.
