Holders of library cards from 87 participating libraries can download titles to their home computers for listening, or transfer them to most WMA/MP3 players. Many titles can also be burned to CD for use in the car.
Downloaded audiobooks are automatically returned to the system, so there are no late fees. Holds can be placed on popular titles, but many titles are ‘always available,’ allowing unlimited concurrent use.
I’m delighted to help our member libraries bring innovative services to their customers. Free, downloadable audiobooks can be used by anyone – at home or on the go, says Joanne Roukens, executive director of the Highlands Regional Library Cooperative, which helped sponsor the service.
The free alternative to subscription-based downloads can be accessed via ListenNJnw’s Digital Book site listennjnw.com.
