The operator has reportedly blocked some basic Bluetooth functionality of the handset, such as the ability to share photographs or contacts with other Bluetooth-enabled devices. The decision forces owners to use similar services provided by Verizon Wireless, it is claimed.
The action follows numerous attempts to hack the v710’s firmware to change its operating parameters. These have only been partly successful.
