The company hopes that the network will add support to its PMC/Foot Care Network for the treatment of diabetics with foot and ocular treatments associated with the disease.

The PMC Ocular Network attempts to round out the foot, eye, wound care, diabetic supply, and orthotics/diabetic shoes, creating a health care delivery platform to assist health care payors with the escalating costs of coping with diabetic patients in the US.

The company also revealed a contract with Wills Eye Surgical Network whereby Wills will facilitate the participation in the network of all facilities controlled directly or indirectly by the Trust under the Will of James Will, Jr. Additionally, Wills Eye will assist PMC Ocular in executing provider agreements with physicians that use Wills’ facilities.

Nancy Pomposello, RN, Director of Marketing for US MedSys, stated: Health care payors are constantly looking for networks that are capable of handling their patient flow in a cost effective manner and, with the addition of the PMC Ocular Network, UMSY now offers a total care platform for the diabetic population that we can market to the largest of those payors.

Joe Bilson, President of Wills Eye Surgical Network added: We view this relationship with PMC Ocular to be a great opportunity for Wills Eye. We see a perfect fit for our group as we will now be getting referrals from both UMSY’s podiatry network and UMSY’s relationships with various labor, health and welfare funds.
