Research firm Global Sources reported that managers in mainland China electronics firms receive an average salary of $9,136, but added that 93% receive other non-cash benefits.

Three quarters get a pension plan, while two thirds benefit from medical or health insurance. Life insurance is enjoyed by 46% of managers, while 43% receive a food and beverage allowance.

Engineering managers enjoy the highest salaries – $11,859 on average – while procurement managers receive the lowest, $6,478.

Advanced degrees pay, with workers with doctorates receiving $18,383 while those with just Bachelor’s degrees receive $9,157. The average working week for China’s electronics managers is 49 hours, the survey found.
