The automotive producer is implementing Epic Data’s eXpresso Server, a data collection software development platform and open system using non-proprietary Java technology.

The next phase of the roll-out will include extending this new system, which includes 150 MPT9100 workstations and Epic Data’s Professional Services for implementation and project management, to the customer’s second Marysville, Ohio and their Lincoln, Alabama manufacturing facilities. Implementation is expected to be complete by March 2005.

The MPT workstation product family is aimed at global aerospace & defense, industrial equipment & machinery and automotive manufacturers, with customers including Lockheed Martin, Bell Helicopter, CAE, Komatsu, Volvo, and Listowel.

The MPT9100, a data collection and communications workstation, is designed for capturing manufacturing data and for time & attendance and access control applications. It aims to facilitate the flow of data, providing visibility to managers and employees, and provide enhanced productivity and security and full support for lean manufacturing practices.
