The new hard drive will have a 12GB capacity, despite being 23% smaller and consuming 30% less power than Seagate’s current models. The one inch drives are traditionally found in mobile devices meaning that lower power needs and smaller sizes can be used to create sleeker devices with longer battery life. As a result Seagate looks set to benefit from the continuing demand for more powerful portable units.
