Under the terms of the agreement, NSS Italia will deploy Federal Hill to assist in securing video on demand (VOD) rights to the latest released Hollywood movies. The move comes as the company prepares to deploy its innovative digital technological platform Entertainment and Communication on Demand (ECOD) to hotels in Italy and throughout Europe.

Federal Hill will aim to facilitate the development of a complete content solution for NSS Italia and will serve as their Hollywood-based programming division. It will also oversee content negotiations, selection and delivery of content, refreshment of titles, contractual administration and marketing.

In order for hotels to remain competitive they must create an environment that caters specific services to their different guest demographics, said Bethany Gorfine, President of Federal Hill Communications. For hotels to meet the needs of their diverse clientele, it is necessary for them to enhance their properties which require significant capital expenditures and building upgrades. NSS’s ECOD platform provides an essential service to hospitality property owners as it offers a cost effective solution that works with the existing infrastructure of established properties as well as newly developed facilities to offer guests the ability to watch movies anytime, of any day, based on their own schedules.

The platform is expected to offer hotels a complete technological solution that can be easily customized based on the requirements and goals of each hotel. It is based on a wireless network solution and connects to any television set, intending to easily integrate with existing hotel facilities, allowing hotels of any size to offer digital video services to their guests without the need for investment in servers, restructuring their facilities or upgrading their television sets.
