The vendor said its release of eToken middleware for Linux 3.6 and eToken Middleware for Mac OS 3.6 means its software can be used to secure email signing and encryption and thin-client authentication across machines running these alternatives to Windows, and deployed notably in the media sector, local government, and education.

The e-Token system, which comes in USB and smart-card form factors, effectively aggregates access to multiple security applications such as web and VPN, secure network logon, and password management, onto a single device.
