According to reports, Palo Alto, California-based HP plans to invest between E40 million ($52.8 million) and E50 million ($66 million) setting up the F&A center during the first half of 2005, which is likely to be based in either Poznan or Wroclaw.

Over the next five years, the company aims to grow the center to employ approximately 1,000 people. HP ranks as the largest IT services provider in the Polish market, where it employs some 750 people, and generated $500 million in revenue in 2003. HP plans to use the facility to provide F&A services internally to HP as well as to third-party companies.

The company signed its first external customer in the business process outsourcing sector in March 2004, signing an accounts payable outsourcing project with consumer products giant Proctor & Gamble, which expands upon the $3 billion 10-year IT services contract with P&G HP won in May 2003.

HP apparently has 100 people in Poland dedicated to the P&G IT project.
