Until now FalconStor’s iSCSI Storage Server product only ran on the NAS version of Windows, which is called Windows Storage Server 2003. Microsoft only sells this version of Windows to OEMs for pre-loading on NAS filers.

As a result the mostly low-end customers who wanted to use FalconStor’s iSCSI software had to buy a Windows-powered NAS box. Now they can run FalconStor’s iSCSI Storage Server on the general purpose Windows Server 2003.
