According to the company, the unit completed the implementations in the first three quarters following its creation in April 2005. Oracle Retail offers merchandising, inventory, pricing, and supply chain products, and customers include Liz Claiborne Outlets, NEXCOM, Northern Group Retail, and ShopKo.

The Retail unit comprises native Oracle software plus the acquired Retek, ProfitLogic, and 360Commerce business and applications. Oracle beat SAP in a short bidding war for Retek. Both vendors have identified retail as a growth sector but Oracle seems to have the edge in terms of penetration and activity levels.
