Oracle is set to expand its offices in Bristol, San Francisco and Cape Town as part of its growing focus on the cloud.
The software vendor is looking to recruit more developers to offices around the world, and is currently advertising positions in Bristol for salaries in excess of £36,000 whilst holding hacking events in San Francisco and Santa Clara.
Peter Magnusson, SVP of cloud development at Oracle, said: "As the only vendor who can give customers capabilities across a wide range of Software-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service, and Infrastructure-as-a-Service products, Oracle is in an ideal position to be the leading Cloud vendor for enterprise."
"Recruiting the best engineers is central to our strategy. Historically, engineers experienced with distributed systems would have tended to be based in the South Bay, but that is no longer the case."
"With our expansion in San Francisco and soon in Berkeley, we’re committed to attracting the very best talent with convenient working and commuting conditions."
Oracle was criticised over issues with vendor lock-in and customer trust by the Campaign for Clear Licensing earlier this January, with the group saying the company would struggle to meet its cloud sales target of $1bn if it did not address those concerns.
However the firm has made several key announcements already this year, including the launch of a line of data centre systems, and the appointment of former CIA director and former US defence secretary Leon Panetta to the board.
