SeeBeyond is to port components of its Integration Composite Application Network (ICAN 5.0) to Java Enterprise System (JES), starting with eGate Java and web services integration suite and Sun’s Application Server 8.0.
Also planned is integration between SeeBeyond’s eInsight Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), to build composite applications for delivery through Sun’s Java System Portal Server.
A series of per-built portlet applications are planned that cover integration, creation of composite applications, workflow and business process management services.
JES, Sun’s integrated Java software and server stack that includes application server, has until now relied on low-level integration techniques, such as JCA and JMS. Competitors, in the application server space, like IBM and BEA Systems though, have delivered fully featured integration software with their servers.
Roger Nolan, senior director for product marketing, said: This brings together business integration technology and next-generation technology like BPEL and compound applications.
