Under the terms of the agreement, Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) will provide health plan administration services from its healthcare services facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. These will include customer service, claims adjudication and payment, system integration and underwriting support.

ACS’ experience in healthcare and insurance, combined with its leading-edge technology, will enable us to achieve substantial cost containment in administrative services, while at the same time improving our information technology infrastructure to solidify our foundation for growth, said Frederick Manning, CEO of Celtic Insurance Company.

According to ACS, its online-Healthplan platform will form the foundation of its business process outsourcing (BPO) software for the insurer. It is an integrated, interactive managed care transaction application designed to enable members to access their account information via online tools, such as web-based internal and external customer user interfaces and imaging and workflow services.

ACS hopes the new contract will allow it to better address the mid-size insurance company market.
