The Huntsville, Alabama-based vendor unveiled two packages at different levels of functionality and price points, both of which will be sold on an annual license basis. The technology underpinning them comes from the company’s acquisition two years ago of Canadian ISV Sonic Mobility.
SonicAdmin QR is the more basic of the two products. It costs an annual $99 per user and gives access to any server to which an admin is authorized within Active Directory. It enables the user to view server statistics and event logs, shut down and reboot, view and manage processes, manage AD user accounts, and run Quick Commands such as ping, ipconfig, and traceroute.
SonicAdmin PRO is the more muscular product, as reflected by its price. It costs $399 per user, per year, and adds Windows services management, file explorer, file search, file editor, and command line interface. Exchange Server management extensions include viewing queue properties, freeze and unfreeze queues, and force correction commands, while AD management adds user group management and mailbox capabilities.
Both software packages are designed to be installed on the servers themselves, from which they are accessed and run remotely by the smart devices.
