Using its build-to-order capability, Dell said it will deliver built-in access to Vodafone’s high-speed wireless data network in these countries, giving users access to email and the internet while on the move, without having to be in range of a wireless hotspot.

Dell said it will offer the option in the first half of this year. The enabling technology, High-Speed Downlink Packet Access, or HSDPA, wireless broadband, is said to be capable of boosting current 3G data transfer speeds by up to four times.

The built-in mobile broadband technology will also be backwards compatible with existing 3G and GPRS wireless data networks, Dell said.
