There had been grumblings from some quarters that this handset’s predecessor, the M3000, was not available in the UK. Not only is this model available in the UK but it boasts an array of features including the ability to connect with 3G, GPRS, EDGE, WiFi and HSDPA networks where available.
Orange says it is currently conducting trials of its UK HSDPA network and, assuming a successful completion, will look to roll it out in 2007.
The firm is pitching the handset primarily at the business market, saying it, Ensures the best possible mobile experience for users who frequently need to access business applications and edit their work documents from outside the office.
Powered by Windows Mobile 5.0, the SPV M3100 supports Windows Mobile email which incorporates the Messaging and Security Feature Pack (MSFP) and includes Direct Push technology.
As well as Outlook information, users can also access applications like Word Mobile, Excel Mobile and calendar functions.
The M3100 has quad-band GSM connectivity, a full sliding qwerty keyboard, Bluetooth, USB and infrared connectivity, 128Mb internal memory, WiFi 802.11b, 2.3 mega pixel camera, loudspeaker, voice dial and more.
