DAT sees the deal as a breakthrough and CEO David Hayes claims it is the world’s first deployment of in-network device management systems apart from simple SIM card management. The company’s software will be used for management of phone settings, firmware upgrades and content and device diagnostics.

Bodiam, UK-based DAT boasts relationships with Cingular and Nextel, currently being acquired by Sprint, in the US.

It held an IPO in December and since then its share price has increased by 172%, valuing the company at GBP 66m ($120m). The problems is that the company’s promise has yet to feed through to the figures and in the year to December 31, it lost GBP 1.97m (3.6m) on revenue 18% lower at GBP 2.4m ($4.4m).
