OhioHealth is a not-for-profit aggregation of eight acute-care hospitals, with affiliation to another seven hospitals in the state of Ohio. The organization has more than 15,000 employees and over 2,500 physicians in its network.

The company determined it needed to more effectively monitor the performance of patient-facing applications, which it had been managing from anecdotal reports from patients and healthcare professionals.

Indicative was able to establish performance baselines during OhioHealth’s proof-of-concept (POC) testing, which it says provided hard evidence of the need for performance improvements. The POC also allowed the company to resolve initially-identified issues that had negatively impacted user experiences with the applications.

Indicative also uncovered performance issues with a critical application that physicians and other hospital staff use to quickly access patient records during treatment, thereby ensuring all factors are known before dispensing medications or administering treatment to a given patient. OhioHealth says in some cases it was able to reduce wait times from hundreds of seconds to a few seconds by identifying performance-impacting issues identified by Indicative.

OhioHealth is in the process of installing Indicative 7.5, which will enable IT service management across its IT environment as well as identify and define opportunities for OhioHealth to optimize application service delivery throughout the organization.
