Currently available as a set of separate services, EWS provides data about targeted and automated attacks that are being perpetrated across the Internet, gleaned from Symantec’s network of about 20,000 sensors, many of which are devices it manages for customers.

By integrating this data into a tab on the Secure Internet Interface used by its MSS customers, Symantec will help companies justify security expenditures, according to MSS group marketing manager Ted Donat.

The combined offering will let administrators view attack data globally, by country, vertical industry or company size, and compare their own security status and history to those of their peers, Donat said.
