UK telecommunications giant BT will provide a fully managed learning management environment, including content, applications and services.

BT says the online learning platform is designed to meet the developing needs of UK education, addressing key issues such as childrens’ services policies and the challenge of succession planning for teachers and school leaders.

BT has worked with the NCSL since its inception and has helped the college grow its online Learning Gateway, providing related systems such as content management, learning management systems and a user helpdesk.

Jonathan Dale, operational director of e-networks, said Our new requirement was for a strategic roadmap and architecture for NCSLs e-learning services, helping us support the development needs of headteachers and other school leaders.

He went on to say. BT’s solution will help us improve our service quality and performance of our e-learning capability for program participants, researchers, and our online communities.
