Palo Alto, California-based HP had received 20 complaints that batteries had overheated and one report of a minor burn injury as a result of the battery, according to the government agency.

The recall is for rechargeable lithium ion batteries made in early 2005 that were used in computers that cost between $1,000 and $3,000 and were sold in the US and online last year.

That may include the batteries in the HP Pavilion Family the HP Compaq Family, and the Compaq Presario Family of machines, said the CPSC.
