Under the terms of the GBP500 million pounds ($972.5 million) deal, IBM will oversee Lloyds TSB’s move to a national high-capacity fiber, DSL, and MPLS network supporting both voice and data communications. The implementation will include about 70,000 VoIP telephones.
The network integration and management will be provided by Isleworth, UK-based Vanco Plc, while Hertford, UK-based Vtesse Networks will supply the fiber network. The new infrastructure is expected to be in place in early 2006.
