Yahoo! licenses Sonic CD/DVD burning technology

Internet search giant Yahoo! has signed a multi-year license agreement for the AuthorScript Music CD/DVD burning and ripping engine from Sonic Solutions, a digital media software company, in its music applications.

According to Sonic, the AuthorScript Music platform will provide Yahoo! with over forty music-centric features designed for online music service providers and audio application developers.

The system also includes a small 1MB footprint for faster downloading, a program that allows users to create CDs that can be played in MP3 CD players, and SilentSelect technology that automatically supports CD/DVD burning and playback in new drives as they become available.
