The "survivors’ edition" of Charlie Hebdo has been launched for iOS, Android and Windows.

Charlie Hebdo printed five million copies of the new magazine but to cope up with the existing demand the publication has released the issue through its dedicated app.

Apple lent its support to the magazine by fast-tracking it into the app store, where iOS users will be able to purchase the issue for $2.99. The price of an annual subscription is expected to go up to €89.99.

The app will be the easiest way for most people to access the magazine, as the print runs across the world have often sold out.

However, while the magazine will be translated into English, Spanish and Arabic, the app will be available only in French.

On January 7th the editorial office of the Paris based publication was attacked by two extremist Islamist gunmen. The attack resulted in the death of 12 people and the wounding of 11 others.
