London-based Aspace, which specializes in multi-channel authentication of users and is backed by identity management, authentication software and hardware provider ActivCard Corp, develops systems that secures access to systems from fixed or mobile phones, across the web or sitting in front of a digital TV. Eracom designs, develops and supplies cryptographic systems for automatic teller machines, electronic fund transfer and various online and point of sale applications. The deal will see Eracom’s ProtectServer Orange HSMs built into the Aspace product known as 4TRESS.
Demand for multi-channel authentication is expected to increase as financial services providers address regulatory pressures for improved risk management procedures.
Last year ActivCard paid 1m pounds ($1.6m) for a 38% stake in Aspace.
