IBM has added German, French, Spanish, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese to provide better support for European and Latin America. EAS now also runs on IBM’s system z mainframe and Linux operating systems.
EAS uses a patented entity resolution engine to mine information repositories and uncover non-obvious relationships between identities like shared phone numbers and bank accounts.
EAS is part of impressive portfolio of products that IBM offers for homeland security, regulatory compliance, law enforcement and anti-money laundering.
Commercial retailers, insurers and healthcare providers can also use the product to guard against fraud.
The language extensions included in EAS further bumps up IBM’s international reach. Earlier this year IBM snapped up partner Language Analysis Systems, which develops software that identifies, profiles and cleanses multi-cultural name data.
