Software AG said it made the acquisition after a successful technology partnership between the two that began in mid-2004. The core Casabac team will be retained and form a new UI Technology Development department. The Casabac GUI will be folded into Software AG’s XML Business Integration product portfolio and further developed.
This technology acquisition is a further step in building our Integration and Business Process Management business segment, said Dr Peter Kurpick, a Software AG board member with responsibility for XML Business Integration. This Java based technology from Casabac will further increase the attractiveness and enhance the easeof-use of our integration solutions with customers.
Casabac is based in Bammental, Germany, while Software AG is headquartered in Darmstadt, Germany. Software AG recently acquired Israeli based Sabratec Ltd, a host systems integration software vendor. Sabratec’s ApplinX is said to integrate mission critical mainframe applications simply and quickly with the latest software environments.
