Infor has updated its manufacturing enterprise resource planning (ERG) software Infor LN, as it seeks to further vertical functionality in its product suite.
Manufacturers will have access to more after-market support, auditing and quality management functions, and will be able to redesign the interface more to their liking.
Edward Talerico, industry director at Infor, said: "Customers come to us with specific micro-verticals needs, seeking to improve operations and while many challenges are similar, they do not want to customise our software to meet their industry specific requirements."
"That is why the latest version of Infor LN has been optimized to offer a tailored approach for enhancing operational efficiency for specific discrete manufacturers."
Alongside the vertical features Infor has revised the design and usability of its software, as well as added handling of rejected inventory and other quality tracking functions, and a new workbench for buying materials.
Billing, invoice and order management has also been updated with the aim of simplifying the process and reduce admin costs.
"Infor’s investments are essential to the transition manufacturers should make in modernising their applications and their enterprise architecture," said Kimberly Knickle, practice director of research ,firm IDG; and her colleague Robert Parker, group vice president.
