Integrant is expected to add more than $6m a quarter to ADI’s revenue as it sells into a Korean market which has led the world in mobile TV. It will be integrated into ADI’s signal processing organization, which specializes in RF design focused on receivers and transceivers for broadband wireless, satellite radio and terrestrial and cable TV.

ADI vice president for high-speed signal processing John Hussey said that customers valued RF solution providers that supported multiple standards and frequencies with compatible families of products.

He argued that Integrant’s technology provided the same value to the emerging mobile TV markets, such as T-DMB, ISDB-T and DVB-H, where receivers are being integrated into mobile phones, personal video players, portable DVD players, notebook PCs, and automotive entertainment systems.

Integrant, which supplies Korea’s leading mobile phone manufacturers, has accumulated significant intellectual property since its formation in 2000, and now has over 100 patents and patent applications worldwide.

ATI is paying $127m up front and an additional $33m upon the achievement of certain milestones.
