Blue Coat says its proxy cache appliances are good at speeding up content filtering by caching frequently accessed objects. ISS, which acquired Web Filter when it bought Cobion AG earlier this year, claims its URL list is the largest on the market.
Blue Coat also offers URL lists from Websense, Secure Computing and SurfControl, as well as the database it acquired with Cerberian earlier this year and now maintains in-house. The ISS deals suggests Blue Coat’s partnering strategy really is still active.
