As part of a network of health supportive services, the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation (SIHF) strives to improve the overall health of the communities it serves. It plans to implement Park City Solutions’ emPOWERnet Referrals and Authorizations eHealth product in a bid to streamline the referral process.

Park City Solutions claims the product will provide their physicians/clinicians with the web-based ability to create electronic referrals and authorizations; delegate the electronic form creation to physicians or other staff members with and without signature privileges; reduce errors associated with hand-written forms; maintain accurate records on the number of approved, performed, scheduled and remaining visits/services within SIHF, and provide a real-time enterprise mechanism to notify their treatment centers of the patient’s latest demographic and insurance information.

The Park City Solutions application is designed to allow SIHF users to generate referrals electronically and monitor those referrals throughout the healthcare delivery network until completion. The comprehensive reporting tool will enable the Foundation to identify patients being referred outside of the SIHF network, while identifying resource needs in certain geographic areas or by specialty.

Our integrated healthcare delivery system of two hospitals and over 20 federally qualified health centers has been looking for a product to primarily streamline the referral process, provide data to assist in strategic decision making regarding physician recruitment, and compliment Meditech, our newly acquired hospital based information technology system, stated Illa Ellington, director of information technology at Kenneth Hall regional hospital. Park City Solutions’ emPOWERnet software seems to be that product.
