The contract, with its initial phase valued at over C$250,000, was installed in January 2005 with Sand reporting some of the revenue in its second quarter.
The aim of the application is to generate reports of key human resource activities for multiple locations through data that had not been linked in previous reporting systems. Analysis and reporting capabilities are also expected to be enhanced.
In addition, Sand said the platform will help users design their own inquiries with reduced assistance from the IT technical support staff.
This is a key progression in Sand’s work with major integrators in government, noted Arthur Ritchie, Sand’s CEO. This is the first step in the critical arena of homeland security in the US, where massive amounts of data must be integrated and explored.
