According to Qualcomm, its OmniExpress solution is now available with two different hardware configurations, ensuring that the specific needs of fleet customers are met. Customers may purchase the embedded vehicle hardware to better manage driver and vehicle performance. OmniExpress enables fleets to track their mobile assets, manage and report on driver hours of service, and retrieve engine and other vehicle data from the FMS CAN-Bus.

With the addition of the new programmable display unit, the OmniExpress solution also enables fleet dispatchers and drivers to communicate via text messages and electronic forms in order to manage trip status and workflow, further improve driver and vehicle performance, enhance safety, reduce operational costs, and improve business planning and decision making.

The Qualcomm in-cab display unit provides the driver with clear user experience through the use of its color touchscreen. The primary services delivered via the in-cab display are two-way text messaging, driver and working hours tracking and alerts, and trip status reporting.
