By using the new software development kit (SDK) developers of IP cameras and video encoders can enhance their product offering by enabling real-time video content analysis (VCA) on any device for a variety of security, safety and business intelligence applications.
The integration of Agent Vi ‘Future-Proofed’ technology with Texas Instruments’s (TI’s) digital media processors will allow future features and enhancements released by Agent Vi to be applied to the processors without requiring any creation, testing or deployment of new firmware. The new SDK supports the entire portfolio of digital media processors based on DaVinci technology including the digital signal processor (DSP) + ARM dual-core, DSP-only and ARM-only processors. Agent Vi’s SDK is compliant with TI’s eXpressDSP and eXpressDSP Digital Media (xDM) standards for easy and fast integration.
By using TI’s eXpressDSP architecture, the application developer can add analytics capabilities within a matter of days, which will provide end users with the ability to monitor and detect in real time the behavior of people, vehicles and objects in a variety of demanding environments and without impacting other important functionality of the device, such as video streaming, said Agent Vi.
Cyril Clocher, manager of worldwide video security & imaging marketing at Texas Instruments, said: Adding video content analytics to surveillance systems is becoming increasingly more important and it’s a challenging endeavor for many developers. Agent Vi’s SDK will aid customers in their product development and allow them to add analytics capabilities with minimal design frustration and delay so as to create products that are able to monitor and detect activities of people, vehicles and objects in busy environments.
