Aewin selects Ramtron’s F-RAM memory

Ramtron, a developer of integrated semiconductor products, has announced that Aewin, Taiwan-based applied industrial computing platform manufacturer, has selected Ramtron's FM22L16 four-megabit nonvolatile F-RAM memory into its Intel-based GA-2000 and AMD-based GA-3000 gaming and high-definition multimedia PC boards.

According to Ramtron, the 4Mb F-RAM replaced battery-backed SRAM in Aewin’s gaming solution to guarantee data integrity with a lower component count and less mechanical contact.

Ken Huang, project manager of Aewin, said: We have replaced battery-backed SRAM with F-RAM in our GA-2000 and GA-3000 designs. F-RAM is widely recognized as the memory of choice in industrial PC designs for casino video gaming.
