Suresh Vaswani, president of infotech and global IT service lines at Wipro said: Wipro has a sharp focus on the Australian region and increasing our regional presence is one of the key strategies for growth in the future.

Wipro started its Australian operations in 2002 and claims to have a strong customer base across the region with operations in New South Wales (NSW) and Victoria.

Innovation will underpin the growth of the centre as Wipro develops and delivers solutions adapted for the Australian market, said Rajat Mathur, chief executive of business solutions and head of Middle East and Asia-Pacific region at Wipro.

Many IT companies have setup operations to increase their focus on Australia. Earlier this month, IT services giant Fujitsu established an application solution centre in Adelaide to offer low risk onshore delivery alternative for companies seeking to reduce their application development and maintenance costs without sending work overseas.
