The Chhattisgarh Government (through CHiPS, India’s nodal agency for e-governance) is creating a convergent network for audio, video and data based on fixed lines, satellite and radio frequency technologies.
According to Juniper, Chhattisgarh is deploying its M- and J-series routers and integrated security gateways to support a range of government services, including Chhattisgarh Online Information for Citizen Empowerment (CHOiCE) which offers citizens 130 online government services.
Brad Gray, vice president of South Asia Pacific for Juniper Networks, said: Governments require fast, reliable and secure access to their network. Chhattisgarh’s choice of Juniper Networks for its high-performance infrastructure shows recognition of the unique value we deliver, combining high-performance and high-availability, to empower programs and processes that serve vast communities.
Aman Kumar Singh Secretary (IT) GoC and CEO of CHiPS, said: This is one of the nation’s largest infrastructure deployments to date and forms the cornerstone of our state-wide WiMAX plans. Juniper’s extensive, proven carrier-grade technology, selected after a transparent bidding process, was a natural fit for our high-performance network infrastructure.
