Logitech’s Ultimate Ears (UE) has unveiled a Bluetooth mobile speaker which it claims can deliver more power and sound than any other portable speaker.

The UE Megaboom weighs 1.7lbs, 0.5lbs more than the original Boom, and is available in red, purple, blue and black.

Like its predecessor, it features a similar 360-degree sound design and can survive in a metre of water for 30 minutes, but it can also double up with a second or a regular Boom for better sound.

Other features include a 20-hour rechargeable battery life, 24 watt microUSB quick charge and 100 foot Bluetooth range. There are also free apps for both iOS and Android, allowing users to control remote, alarm and sound functions.

Rory Dooley, general manager of Ultimate Ears, said: "People want their music wherever they go, and to be part of everything they do."

"That’s why we designed UE MEGABOOM to be strong enough to withstand your life and your adventures, and allow you to share the magic of music wherever you go."

The Bluetooth speaker costs $299.99 and is expected to be available in the US, Europe and Asia later this month.
