Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

InfinityQS, which is based in Chantilly, said its statistical process control software covers the entire manufacturing and supply chain and will nicely complement the quality and productivity improvement technical skills of DeSimone.

InfinityQS said that DeSimone will give it a stronger local presence for supporting its multinational clients, many of whom have already invested in large manufacturing operations in China.

The two companies are hardly strangers. DeSimone, which has specialized in quality management methodologies and technology implementation since 2004 in China, has been an authorized sales channel for InfinityQS’ software for almost two years.

The move follows a backlash against faulty and dangerous manufactured goods coming out of China. That has put the spotlight firmly on manufacturing safety and quality standards in Chinese factories and plants.

The daunting number of product recalls in the past year alone shows just how challenging it can be to ensure product safety and quality in this environment, said Michael Lyle, CEO of InfinityQS. One of our main objectives is to minimize the likelihood of a recall so that companies can avoid profit loss and adverse publicity.

Lyle, nevertheless, expects said the number of multinational companies dependent on manufacturing operations in China to continue to increase in the foreseeable future.
