Trolltech’s claim to fame is that it provides Windows, UNIX, and Linux native support from a single code base, without having to port your code. Instead you just add a link, without having to rewrite any of your code libraries. Additionally, its Qt Jambi offering extends this capability for Java as well, letting you code Java without the VM to run natively on those platforms.

The advantage of going to Eclipse is obvious: it provides a common front end shell that has become familiar throughout the Java world, and access to other Eclipse plug-ins as well. In essence, Eclipse expands Trolltech’s addressable market for its Qt and Jambi tools.
