The company said that the combined company will have five lines of business, including internet text relay services, which enable deaf or hard of hearing callers to use a web-connected computer or wireless handheld device to place calls; video relay services, which allows a deaf caller to communicate directly with a sign language over a live video connection on a webcam-equipped PC or a set-top videophone; community interpreting services; wireless devices and services and state telecommunications relay services, which allows use of text-telephone device. The company has contracts to provide these services in California, Tennessee and the District of Columbia.
