Having learnt its lesson with previous console shortages, Play.com has promised to fulfill all preorders for the eagerly awaited new Sony PS3 on the release date, March 23, 2007.

We have been working hard with Sony to make sure that we can deliver every pre-order on the release date, Play.com head of games Gian Luzio is widely quoted as saying.

Play.com’s pre-order PS3 package consists of a console with 60GB HDD and three games (MotorStorm, Genji, and Resistance: Fall of Man), plus an HDMI cable, for GBP524.99 with free delivery.

Game has also recently announced that it is accepting pre-orders, and online retailer Amazon.co.uk has begun its own pre-orders campaign, albeit with some technical hitches that reportedly prevented consumers from making their purchases as early as the company had previously promised.
