The San Jose, California-based company has launched BusinessObjects Mobile, a module of its XI BI platform that delivers analytic information to mobile devices, and version 2 of its XI Productivity Pack, which provides enhanced BI connectivity through web services in an SOA (called Query as Web Service), better search capabilities and integrated views of multidimensional data from multiple sources.
Additionally, the company has unveiled a new data visualization product called BusinessObjects Xcelsius that is built on technology gained through its $40m acquisition of Infommersion a couple of years ago.
Business Objects has also expanded its on-demand BI offering, releasing two new data connectors – Open Data Connector and Universal Web Services Connector – for live connectivity to on- and off-premises data sources through web-based applications.
Business Objects boasts over 40,000 subscribers for its on-demand BI offerings which it introduced last year.
Business Objects CEO John Schwarz said the products were the first of several that the company intends to roll out this year to make BI more widely deployed and used across business enterprises.
Our focus is straightforward – to help our customers spread the light of intelligent information by making BI pervasive throughout their organization, he said.
We’ve designed our solutions to provide everyone access to the information they need, wherever they need it.
