The West Penn Allegheny Health System (WPAHS) activated Sunrise Clinical Manager’ at the 665-bed Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) and the 59-bed AGH Suburban Campus, Bellevue, PA, an important step towards helping to enhance the delivery of patient care in its high-acuity care environment.

Sunrise Clinical Manager, which is remote hosted at the Eclipsys Technology Solutions Center (TSC) located in Mountain Lakes, NJ, has already processed more than one million orders. Leveraging the Eclipsys Outcomes Methodology, Allegheny General Hospital (AGH) is close to achieving its goal of having 100% of orders placed in Eclipsys Knowledge-Based CPOE system only a few weeks after going live.

Connie Cibrone, AGH president and CEO, said: Launching Sunrise Clinical Manager was a significant undertaking for AGH and for our healthcare system. Very few hospitals in the country have been able to successfully incorporate an electronic medical record system so swiftly and thoroughly across the entirety of a medical staff and physical campus as large and diverse as AGH. The scale of what was accomplished in such a timely and cost-effective manner is a reflection of both the talent and dedication of our clinical staff to achieving this goal and to the tremendous collaboration between AGH and Eclipsys.
