Cloakware and Irdeto have been partners since 2004 and developed several solutions to prevent piracy and subscription fraud in digital video and internet protocol networks. Iredeto intends to gain a foothold in source-code analysis market with this acquisition, according to SC Magazine.

Irdeto plans to incorporate Cloakware’s flagship product, Corporate Security Suite into its own services. The Corporate Security Suite ensures authorized access to digital content making it difficult to hack the services provided by Iredeto, the company said.

Through this deal, Irdeto will be able to reach out to the North American market with Cloakware’s clients such as Texas Instrument, Vodafone, and State Street while Cloakware will gain access to Irdeto’s more than 300 customers in 60 countries, according to Business Journal.

In its strategy to enhance product portfolio, Irdeto acquired IDway SAS in July 2007, to boost its capabilities to provide wider range of integrated solutions to operators and set top box (STB) manufacturers.
