Adobe’s Acrobat Connect Professional software is being integrated into the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) Net-Centric Enterprise Services program to allow US military personnel worldwide to access and collaborate over documents.

San Jose, California-based Adobe said the multi-year contract was awarded to Carahsoft Technology, a government IT systems integrator that works closely with Adobe.

DISA also plans to implement Jabber’s Extensible Communications Platform, Jabber XCP, to provide Defense staff with instant messaging and chat capabilities.

Both the Adobe and Jabber technologies are being integrated via a Web interface that combines common tasks for Web conferencing and instant messaging, and also for registration, authentication, and PKI requirements.

Deployment and integration of the solution at DISA will be managed by Science Applications International and SRA International.
