The Home Basic edition was selling for $201 but now retails for $66, while the Premium version dropped from $238 to $118 last week. Whether those prices will be low enough to deter consumers from buying cheap pirated copies remains to be seen.
Last month, Microsoft said it had sold 60 million copies of Vista between its release in late January to the end of June.
